Distinguished Flying Cross

This officer has been engaged on operational flying since the war began. He has completed numerous sorties and has destroyed at least two enemy aircraft and damaged several others. He is a most capable flight commander and much of the success his flight had achieved can be attributed to Squadron Leader Howden's skilful leadership.
