Squadron Leader LAVERS has been a member of the staff of CFS since 1941, except for the period between May, 1944, and May, 1945, when he attended various flying training courses in the United Kingdom.
He has held the appointment of Chief Ground Instructor since March, 1942, and has been largely responsible for the progress made both in air and ground training as a result of the close contact he has maintained in flying training by taking such an active part in it himself.
This officer has logged 2,400 hours' flying since being awarded the Air Force Medal in 1941, and his total flying hours now amount to 3,753, of which 82 hours have been completed in the last six months.
Squadron Leader LAVERS' keenness and energy have been invaluable to the unit, while his zeal and efficiency in the performance of his duties have been an inspiration to all members.
