Flight Lieutenant GRIFFITH proved himself to be a most courageous and reliable leader who showed great dash and determination when engaged on operations. From 25th April, 1944, to 1st December, 1944, he took part in ninety-five bombing, strafing, and photographic missions over the Wewak, Hollandia, Wadke, Biak, Vogelkop, Ceram and Halmahera areas. Thirty-nine of these missions were strikes.

On 3rd June, 1944, he took part in an interception over Biak Island, and was credited with one and a half enemy aircraft confirmed.

Flight Lieutenant GRIFFITH led missions of all types and, by his capable leadership, was responsible for the excellent results obtained on many occasions.
