Squadron Leader PARSONS, now on his second tour of active operations against the enemy, has served as a flight commander with No. 8 (GR/B) Squadron since April, 1944. He has completed 403 hours of operational flying and carried out 64 sorties including 59 strikes against strongly defended enemy positions.
Squadron Leader PARSONS is an expert pilot who has led his flight with the utmost skill, courage and determination. His sound judgement and wide experience in operations have been of great benefit to the squadron. His devotion to duty is in the highest traditions of the Service.

Flight Lieutenant PARSONS served in New Guinea as a Flight Commander in No. 100 Squadron from the 6th November, 1942, until the 14th July, 1943, and by his unfailing devotion to duty and cheerful acceptance of the most difficult tasks, inspired all those who served with him.
He carried out 34 sorties including 7 strikes, many of them under extremely arduous weather conditions, and at all times his missions were carried out with remarkable zeal and determination to press home attacks.
In the face of most adverse conditions, Flight Lieutenant PARSONS proved himself to be an outstanding Beaufort captain and flight commander.
