Flight Lieutenant DICKSON was posted to No. 4 Tac/R. Squadron on the 23rd April, 1943, and since that date has carried out sixtysix sorties including five strikes. He has completed 98 hours of operational flying practically all of which was over hostile territory. His gallantry and devotion to duty have been an inspiration to other pilots of the squadron.

Owing to his courage, reliability and intimate knowledge of enemy territory, he was sought by allied fighter squadrons to lead their formations in dive bombing strikes. His skill, courage and outstanding leadership while leading these attacks are worthy of the highest praise.
