As the result of enemy bombing attacks, he was faced with an aircraft maintenance problem of the greatest difficulty. With exceptional keenness and unflagging energy, Flying Officer ALLAN succeeded in maintaining his squadron's aircraft at a high level of efficiency, and it was largely due to his outstanding effort that the squadron was able to carry out its operations on the extensive scale that was required.
